Marine Aluminum Sheet, Plate, Coil & Checker Plate
The complete range we supply for hull, deck, tank and superstructure work — sheet from 0.5 mm, plate 3–50 mm, coil 0.5–3 mm and five-bar checker plate, in 5083, 5086, 5754, 5052, 5454 and 5182. Sourced from mills holding DNV approval, cut to your drawing, with an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate on every batch.
Product Categories
Two levels, kept apart on purpose. The four forms on top are what this range is built around; the three below are supplied alongside a plate order rather than held as a standing range.
0.5–6 mmAluminum Sheet
Thin-gauge 5xxx sheet for hull plating, superstructures and general fabrication, sheared and levelled to size or supplied from coil.
3–50 mmAluminum Plate
Heavy-gauge hull, deck and tank plate in H116 and H321, plasma- or saw-cut to your nesting before dispatch.
0.5–3 mmAluminum Coil
Coil and slit strip for continuous production — decking, panels and cladding, slit to your width, edge-dressed and recoiled.
3–6 mmAluminum Checker Plate
Five-bar tread plate for walkways, gangways and engine-room floors, where grip and drainage matter more than appearance.
Plate and sheet are the specialist line. These items travel on the same order, certificate pack and shipment, but they are not held as a standing stock range — availability is confirmed per enquiry.
Aluminum Extrusion & Tube
Extruded tube, bar and hollow sections for railings, ladders and supports.

Working from an alloy you have already specified rather than a form? The alloy index below lists the forms each grade is supplied in.
Which Alloy Comes in Which Form

★ marks the standard stock route for that alloy. An em dash means the combination is not part of this range — ask, and we will tell you whether it can be sourced rather than substitute without saying so.
Tempers shown are the ones quoted for each combination. A temper outside this list, or a width above 2,650 mm, is handled as a project enquiry.
Specifications by Product Form
What each form runs to, and where the number comes from. Where a figure is confirmed per order it says so instead of carrying a number we cannot stand behind.

Mechanical properties by alloy
Specified minima, or the published range where the standard gives a range instead of a minimum. Values are for the temper named in the first column.
| Alloy | Temper | Tensile | 0.2% proof | Where the figure comes from |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5083 | H116 / H321 | 305 MPa min | 215 MPa min | ASTM B928-03 Table 3 |
| 5083 | Above 40 mm | 285 MPa min | 200 MPa min | ASTM B928-03 Table 3 |
| 5086 | H116 / H321 | 275 MPa min | 195 MPa min | ASTM B928-03 Table 3 |
| 5754 | O / H111 | 190–240 MPa | 80 MPa min | EN 485-2 (range, not a minimum) |
| 5754 | H22 / H32 | 220–270 MPa | 130 MPa min | EN 485-2 (range, not a minimum) |
| 5052 | H32 | 214 MPa min | 159 MPa min | ASTM B209 |
| 5454 | H32 | 215 MPa min | 85 MPa min | Minimum on the mill certificate |
| 5182 | O | Not quoted as a single value | — | Sources disagree — see note |
| 5182 | H111 | Not quoted as a single value | — | Sources disagree — see note |
- 5454-H32The figures are the conservative minima carried on the mill certificate; typical measured values run higher. Confirm your batch against its Mill Test Certificate.
- 5182EN 485-2, EN 14286 and ASTM B209 do not agree on 5182 for the same temper — published tensile figures for O temper differ by tens of MPa depending on which standard a source follows, and EN 14286 is a tank-body standard rather than a sheet-and-plate one. Printing one number here would mean picking a side in a disagreement we cannot settle, so we quote the temper and standard you name on the order and confirm the figures on the certificate issued against your batch.
Figures are the specified minima or published ranges for the temper shown, drawn from the standard or certificate named in the last column. They are not a substitute for the mill test certificate issued against your order — always confirm the values for your batch against that document.
Thickness and certificate figures come from the standards named in the last column. Width and length are capability figures for this supply range rather than values from a standard — the window that applies to your order is confirmed in writing before we quote.
Marine Alloys We Supply
Six 5xxx grades cover the marine work this range is built on. Three hold DNV grade approval for hull construction; the other three are supplied for non-hull work and are marked as such — we would rather you see that here than find it out at inspection. Each page gives the thickness window, tempers and inspection requirements for that alloy.
Not on the classification-society hull list, and not presented as hull alloys. Supplied for non-hull parts where high strength or a specific temper governs, quoted against mill availability.
Need a grade that is not listed? Send the drawing and the service conditions — we will say what is available rather than quietly substituting.
Three Ways to Place an Order
Most enquiries fall into one of three shapes. Naming yours up front is the fastest way to a usable quote.
From the standard range
You already know the alloy, temper and thickness. Send the list with quantities and we quote against current stock, lead time included.
Written quote, lead time included
Cut to your drawing
Send a DXF, PDF or dimensioned sketch. Parts are nested for minimum scrap, cut to ±2 mm as standard or ±0.2 mm where a weld gap depends on it, then marked, filmed and packed for export.
Nesting & marking
Non-standard and project grades
A temper outside the matrix, a width over 2,650 mm, a length beyond 12,000 mm, or a project alloy. We confirm what can actually be sourced before quoting.
Confirmed before quoting
What Arrives With the Material
The paperwork is the part that survives the shipment. Here is what it covers.
Mill approval where it counts
Plate and sheet are sourced from mills holding DNV approval — the classification most marine buyers ask for. Other major societies are available with the order on request.
Traceable to the heat number
Each batch carries a mill test certificate matched to the heat number marked on the plate, so a part can be traced back from the yard to the cast.
Inspected before it ships
Thickness, flatness and marking are checked by our QC team before export packing, and packing photos are sent while the container is still open.
DNV grade approval is available on 5083, 5086 and 5754. For 5052, 5182 and 5454 we supply against ASTM B209 and EN 485-2 — those grades are not on the classification-society hull list, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.

Product Questions
What is the difference between sheet and plate?
It is a thickness boundary, not a quality difference. Sheet runs 0.5–6 mm and is supplied sheared and levelled; plate runs 3–50 mm and is plasma- or saw-cut to your nesting. Between 3 and 6 mm both are available, so the choice depends on how the part is formed and welded rather than on the gauge alone.
Which alloys do you supply, and in which forms?
5083, 5086, 5754, 5052, 5454 and 5182, in the combinations shown in the supply matrix above. Plate covers 3–50 mm and sheet from 0.5 mm. If you need a temper or combination outside that list, ask — we will tell you what is available rather than substitute without saying so.
Can you cut material to my drawing?
Yes. Send a DXF, PDF or a dimensioned sketch. Parts are nested for minimum scrap and cut to ±2 mm as standard, or ±0.2 mm where a weld gap depends on it, then marked with their part ID and heat number, filmed, and packed for export.
What documentation comes with the material?
Every batch ships with an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate showing chemical composition and mechanical properties, traceable to the heat number marked on the plate. On classification: the mills hold DNV approval, DNV grade approval is available on 5083, 5086 and 5754, and other major societies can be arranged with the order on request.
How is the material packed for sea freight?
Waterproof paper, anti-moisture film and steel strapping on fumigated wooden pallets, with interleaved paper between sheets. Wooden crates and edge protection are available on request, and loading photos are sent before the doors are sealed.
Can I consolidate different forms on one order?
Yes — plate, sheet, coil, checker plate and the framing items listed above can travel on one certificate pack and one shipment, which is usually the cheapest way to cover a whole deck scope.
